It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she scored one of the most memorable sporting moments of all time - the score of the very first perfect 10 on the asymmetrical bars. To add to that, she went to score six more perfect 10s, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist, at just 14 years of age. Nadia Comaneci managed to attract international attention and aid in helping Romania establish itself as a major player on the international stage. This sporting icon stepped into the spotlight after securing an unprecedented number of points, thereby making her a celebrity and promoting gymnastics as a sport throughout the globe. The sport also altered the perception of female gymnasts. The effect she had on Olympics was so great that her two moves including the toe-on and release, are named after her. Both have been rated as high-level difficulty. Apart from the Olympics the performance of her was exceptional in both World Championships (World Championships) and European Championships.
